Ransomware cyber attack infects systems in 100 countries

A global cyber-attack leveraging hacking tools has infected systems in nearly 100 countries.

The ransomware encrypted data on the computers is demanding payments of US$300 to US$600 to restore access.  It is believed there are 57,000 infections worldwide.

The ransomware is a new variant of “WannaCry” that has the ability to automatically spread across large networks.

Speed is of the essence to protect systems, minimize operating risk and protect brand reputation.
