What We Learned From the East Asian Insurance Congress, Taipei, Taiwan

Crawford Asia attended the East Asian Insurance Congress, which was held in Taipei, Taiwan Nov. 2-6, 2014. The congress welcomed more than 1500 risk and insurance professionals from 44 countries.

This gave us the perfect opportunity to showcase our new brand to the Asian market. With booth panels promoting the Crawford®, Global Technical Services™ and Broadspire® branding, marketing material to support these areas of the business and the opportunity to win a top prize, it generated a lot of interest. Prior to the event our social media campaign and website was used to promote our attendance.

We had senior personnel from throughout our Asia Pacific region: Richard Martin, Chairman Asia Pacific; Phillip Fong, VP Global Markets, Asia Pacific; Chris Panes, CEO Asia; Michael Campbell-Pitt, General Manager Greater China; and Dr Leo Chen, General Manager, Taiwan who were there to demonstrate their technical expertise to major businesses, insurers and brokers as well as meet as many existing clients as possible. Colleagues from our Taipei, Taiwan office also joined us at the booth.

This event gave us the ideal opportunity to announce the appointment of Chris Panes as CEO Asia. Through the power of our social media campaign, Chris, Richard and Phillip met up with journalists and business contacts from the attending countries.

We received such positive feedback from the event that we are already planning to attend the forum in Macau in 2016.

Note:

The 27th East Asian Insurance Congress was held in Taipei, Taiwan from Nov. 2-6, 2014. This Congress has consistently served as a vital platform for all members and insurance practitioners in the region to exchange ideas and information on a variety of insurance and to explore solutions for the problems and issues that we are facing in the insurance industry.
