The 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia kicks off today, and Crawford & Company (Canada) Inc. has a vested interest in one of the participants. Since 2007, Crawford Canada has been a proud supporter of Perianne Jones and her quest for the podium. Perianne, a 28-year-old Olympian from Almonte, Ontario, is a Canadian cross-country skier who has competed in team and individual events since 2002. Perianne is the second cross-country skier sponsored by Crawford Canada; the first, Rebecca Scott, now retired, won a gold medal in the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City.
On February 3, 2013, Perianne Jones and Dara Gaiazova won a bronze medal in a team sprint competition at the FIS Cross-Country World Cup and Sochi Olympics test event in Sochi, Russia. The medal guarantees that each of Canada’s seven men’s and women’s skiers will be in the prestigious red group – with the top-30 skiers in the overall rankings on the World Cup tour.
Keep up with Perianne on her blog at periannejones.blogspot.ca. Who are you hoping brings home the gold from Sochi?
