Marissa Warner is a compliance specialist based out of Crawford Canada’s head office in Kitchener, ON. Her role is focused primarily on managing the real estate portfolio for all branches across Canada. Marissa also manages regulatory compliance for licensing; she ensures that all adjusters maintain their national and international licenses so that they are able to work on claims in other countries.
While Marissa has been with Crawford for almost four years, her career has been varied; her background includes schooling in legal studies and work in commercial modelling. She also recently earned her Canadian Risk Management designation and is currently taking graduate studies courses in Business at McMaster University. Marissa is also heavily involved in charitable initiatives and events in the region of Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario. Most recently, she was a spokesperson and representative for the Canadian Cancer Society’s annual Fashion for Life fundraiser which took place at the St. George Banquet Hall in Waterloo on April 10th.
In 2010, Fashion for Life was created to bring together designers, celebrities, industry professionals and sponsors with the local community and those that been affected and touched by cancer for a celebration of style and survival. The event showcases two spring fashion shows. As the spokesperson for the evening show, Marissa helped to market the event and raise funds. Marissa was in good company too: her counterpart for the afternoon show was Lynn Spence, a regular style expert on Citytv’s Cityline and former contributing editor for some Canadian lifestyle magazines. Several Crawford employees were in attendance to support this great cause and their passionate colleague.
Since its inception, the event has raised over $200,000, all of which goes to the Canadian Cancer Society’s Waterloo Region Unit and their fight against cancer.
